Maple Whisper

As a long time brick fan, this was my first non-Lego set ever, because I thought this set was so neat. One of the bags was open in the box (despite the seals being intact) but all the pieces were accounted for. The set ended up looking just as good as in the pictures, and I am very happy with it. Brick quality and instructions were just fine.

Hay que tomar en cuenta que se requiere muchísima paciencia y horas para hacerlo. Lo compré para poner un detalle en mi oficina. Sin embargo lo terminó armando mi hija por qué es una mente más fresca.
Algo que tengo que comentarles es que entender el manual si no estás familiarizado con estos legos te va a costar.

An absolutely beautiful piece my husband loves it and displays it on top of his PC that is clear evidence of how much he loves it?? what a wonderful Christmas present he had fun making it. I absolutely recommend genuinely.

It is surprisingly great for not being Lego. I do have to question the name of “Maple Whisper” as the leaves are not maple leaves… they are shaped like red, orange, and yellow MJ leaves. Just pointing it out.

All there and great fitting pieces! Gives Lego a run for the money lol!

I received this product for free through the Vine program. The kit comes in a sturdy box, and I really appreciate that the bags are labeled in a Lego-style system. It makes the build more organized, keeps pieces from getting lost, and makes the directions much easier to follow. The color palette is gorgeous — rich, saturated shades that stand out without looking garish. When finished, it’s a genuinely beautiful piece to display, especially if you love the look of bonsai trees but can’t keep real ones alive.

The attention to detail is excellent: scattered extra leaves, the small structure inside the planter, the multi-tiered pot and stand, and even the uneven trunk that mimics a real tree. The instructions are quite clear — maybe not as polished as Lego, but close enough that building is still smooth and enjoyable. I also love that larger bricks have their dimensions printed in the manual, so you don’t have to count studs in the drawings to figure out what’s what.

That said, the final steps veer into frustration. The leaves, the trunk, and even the decorative rocks tend to pop off with the slightest pressure. It’s almost necessary to use a little superglue to keep everything secure once you reach the top sections.

A few other things could be improved. I sometimes wished the bags were broken down further — for example, the #1 groups require opening four separate bags at once, which leads to a lot of digging and increases the chance of losing pieces. The leaf design also looks more like cannabis leaves than maple leaves, which is a bit distracting. I’m not a huge fan of the loose pieces inside the planter base; they can fall out and get lost, even though they do make the display look more natural. And the pot and stand don’t click together at all, so they slide around unless you use some kind of adhesive to keep them aligned.

Overall, it builds into a beautiful display piece, but be prepared for some fiddly and glue-worthy moments toward the end.

"The bonsai set arrived with 900 pieces, each fitting together cleanly without gaps. The instructions were clear, though I slowed down halfway just to enjoy the process. The finished maple tree looks balanced. The red leaves stand out, yet they don’t overwhelm. The base feels sturdy enough to avoid tipping over. Completing it took me about two evenings, which felt like the right pace. The blocks are solid, not cheap, and they lock tight. The finished tree sits on my shelf, I thought about adding tiny lights, but it looks good enough by itself. It was a fair value for the price, good enough to keep you or your children busy for a couple days. Probably not appropriate for younger kids, but teenagers should have no problems having fun. I recommend this item and would purchase again.
