I was hesitant to order this set. I'd never even seen the brand Wise Block before, and 3150 pieces could be a rough experience if the piece quality were poor. I am very pleased to say that the pieces are excellent. They are all LEGO-compatible size with consistent fit, colors, and premium-quality appearance. I have only two minor criticisms of the pieces. They are a little tougher to disassemble than usual, so when I made a mistake, it wasn't easy to correct. Also, the small hole in the green 7-petal flower pieces is just a little extra tight. Compared to all of the other leaf and flower pieces, there are fewer of the green ones, so they just took a little extra care and attention when attaching them to stems and weren't a big deal.
I love the design. The scene is so serene and tranquil. The great-looking tram with its several printed pieces was a major factor that helped me decide to order this set, but I actually like the scene even better with the tram removed. Looking at it, I can just imagine sitting on the bench, maybe with a friend, enjoying a cool beverage from the vending machine while waiting for the tram, and time just slipping away. The set also can work very well as a centerpiece because there is no side or angle that lacks visual interest. There are some spots that suffer just a little bit from crowding. I wish the cobblestone path in the foreground was just a little wider to make it easier to imagine strolling among those plants. The tiles with printed koi are one of my favorite parts, so it's a little surprising that two of them get mostly hidden underneath the bridge. The sakura canopy is wonderfully dense, and the trees cast fantastic shadows under overhead lighting.
Another huge plus is that the set includes all of the pieces to have both seasons' plants built at the same time. To change seasons, you just have to remove one season's plants and replace them with the other's. There's no having to disassemble every leaf, stem, and blossom to rebuild them in a different configuration. All of the assemblies feel very sturdy to me, so I think there's a good chance of being able to store those alternates in an assembled state and have very little concern about pieces getting knocked loose.
The two large format printed instruction books are very good. I had a little trouble telling the difference between dark tan and olive green, but they did a great job calling out the different colors of pink. All of the parts bags have nice large numbers, although without a background color for contrast, the numbers aren't always easy to see and read at a glance. Most of the build phases used 2-3 bags at a time. I really appreciate that all of the large sakura plate assemblies use an identical arrangement of pieces. Yes, it's repetitive, but it was very nice to just sit and keep making those instead of having to repeatedly stop to try to understand how to build twenty different variations on the same thing. The other plants take a more balanced approach with three of this and five of that.
Overall, I think this is one of the most impressive sets I've built, so for just a little over $60, it's a really exceptional value. I'll definitely be looking out for more sets from this brand. I build a wide variety of brands and it's uncommon to find one make such a strong first impression as Wise Block has done with this set.
This Wise Block Cherry Blossom Bonsai Tree building set is absolutely incredible. From start to finish, the experience was both relaxing and rewarding. With over 3,150 pieces, this is a true adult-level build that keeps you engaged without feeling frustrating. The instructions were clear, the pieces fit together perfectly, and watching the tree slowly take shape was incredibly satisfying.
What really makes this set special is the final result. Once assembled, the cherry blossom bonsai looks elegant, detailed, and surprisingly lifelike for a block build. The soft pink blossoms paired with the sculpted trunk create a beautiful, calming display that fits perfectly in a home office, living room, or study. I also love that its a 2-in-1 design, which adds extra value and creative flexibility.
This set is perfect for anyone who enjoys mindful projects, Japanese-inspired dcor, or unique display pieces that spark conversation. It feels high-end, thoughtfully designed, and well worth the time invested. Whether youre buying it for yourself or as a gift, this bonsai building set is a fantastic blend of creativity, craftsmanship, and dcor. I couldnt be happier with it and highly recommend it. ??
I had been putting off building this set because I knew that it would be time consuming. It was indeed time consuming and parts were very repetitive. However I did really enjoy this build for the most part and it turned out amazing. The instructions were extremely good and it comes with two different instruction books. Tye first book goes over the building of the base. Tye second goes over the building of the plants. You have two options of plant displays. There is spring which has green bushes and four cherry blossom trees. Then there is summer and it has a couple of green trees and tons of flowers along the ground. I chose spring. This is where the time consuming and repetitive started. There are probably a thousand pink leaves and flowers that had to be placed. It looks great but after all the work I don't know when if at all will I change it to summer. There were no stickers all pieces were printed. I love the station with a vending machine in it. There are some hidden Easter eggs in the build but I will not say here what they are. If you want to find out buy it and build it. It has a very high count for the price. Mainly it is the leafs and flowers to change seasons. It is a bit large so you will need a good spot to display. I really love how this turned out.
This took me a bit to figure out where to start but once I did it was very well organized. It has two instruction books. The first one tells you how to put together the base of the tree and the second one tells you how to do each of the seasons. I love all the different colors of flowers and leaves for the different seasons. It was a lot of fun to do and I can continue to have fun when I change it for the new season! I do wish they would have put the pieces in resealable bags so they would be easier to keep but that is not a big deal since pretty much everyone has them anyway! It is good quality and I love the cute little tree!
The Wise Block Cherry Blossom Bonsai Tree Building Set wasn't like anything in my collection so I decided to add it. With a count of over 3100 bricks, I was honestly expecting mini (or micro mini) mini bricks. I was surprised to find full size bricks when I opened the box!
The set comes in a beautiful, giftable, box with images of the finished models on the outside. Inside are numbered bags of bricks and TWO manuals. The manuals are both very easy to follow and none of the steps require a large number of bricks so they go quickly. Some of the colors are off in the manual but it's easy to figure out. This is especially the case in the second book (but more on that later). The bricks are all Lego compatible and snap together nicely. There are no stickers at all and the bricks that have graphics are all printed bricks, another nice touch.
The first 9 bags of bricks are the base, train and train station. It is a surprisingly solid base with full supports underneath and no flex like some others I have done. This is all built in the first manual and it's easy going. The second manual is strictly for the foliage in the set and there are a LOT of bricks. A few hundred of the bricks in the total brick count are leaves alone! You have your choice of ways to finish the model; spring or summer. Each season is broken down into its own set of instructions and the manual is clear on where to jump to in order to start your chosen build. I went with the spring because the cherry blossoms are iconic and look fantastic to boot.
You will notice in my pictures that there are none with the trees completed. That is because the foliage build is a BEAST! The first nine bags took me under 3 hours. I spent over 2 hours last night and have only gotten through 24 PAGES of the second manual and still have literally HUNDREDS more bricks to go (the picture of the blue sorting trays was taken AFTER I completed those 24 pages so you can see how much there is!). Don't get me wrong, I am absolutely loving it, but it's time consuming to say the least. The only complaint I could possibly list is that, in the second manual, the colors are off as they are in the first. However, you will have to pay closer attention so that you are choosing the correct bricks for each assembly. I would deduct a half star if that was a thing. The description states for adults and I think that is very accurate. An older teen with building experience may be able to knock it out but it's definitely not for younger builders.
At only $60, I think this is a fantastic build. It is well designed, a very satisfying set and the option to choose your season to finish the set is a great idea. I would go with 4.5 stars if half stars were a thing but, based on how much I am actually enjoying this set, I have to round up to 5 stars. Definitely worth the price for a set with over 3000 pieces.
This is going to take some time to build, but it will be pretty in the end. There are two instruction booklets because of how many pieces there are. Please note that the instructions can be followed, but they aren't as good in some places. I'd say this is probably a 8/10 difficulty build.
The bricks themselves are so pretty, with great colors. No problems with the quality. They appear to be compatible with name brand.
My youngest daughter loves building sets and she owns a trunk of both Legos and off-brand pieces/sets. She was thrilled to see this set and asked for it despite the age suggestion of 18 (she’s 10). I hesitated but went with her desires and while I am pleased with this beautiful set, it is definitely not for casual builders.
First, this is just a gorgeous, detailed building set with over 3,000 pieces, and the quality surprised me. Every piece feels sturdy, fits cleanly, and works seamlessly with my daughter’s existing bricks from other sets. From the base plates to the tiny flowers, everything connects without bending, cracking, or that wobbly feel some off-brand blocks sometimes have.
The big draw for my daughter was the scene itself. You can build it as spring or fall, which makes the whole set feel a little more artistic and customizable. She’s only 10 though, and this set is rated 18+, and I will admit that’s where I made a mistake. It’s absolutely doable for her, but it requires a level of focus and patience that younger builders might struggle with. That isn’t a negative about the set at all. It’s simply very advanced.
The instructions are also excellent. There are two thick booklets, entirely illustrated, and each page shows exactly which pieces you need for each build segment. The pieces are also separated into their own bags by type, so you’re not dumping out thousands of parts at once. It’s all thoughtfully organized.
Because of the level of detail, I expect this to be a long-term project for us and probably something she and her dad tackle together over Christmas break. If your child is already highly skilled with complex building sets, they might handle this independently. But if you’re buying for someone younger than the suggested age, just know that they’ll likely need a bit of help along the way.
This is a beautiful, high-quality set at a fair value for anyone who loves detailed builds. Even though I underestimated the difficulty level for my daughter, she’s excited about it, and I think she’s going to learn a lot during the process.
This is a beautiful set at a great price. It includes so many pieces. There are several printed pieces, and no stickers. If you are looking for plant pieces compatible with Lego, this set has hundreds of them in several different styles. All pieces come in numbered bags which correspond to the well written instruction books. One book covers the assembly of the build of the main sceen, and the other details the nature options. It is fun to build. Then once built you have options on which seasonal trees and flowers to add. The completed set is stuning. I just wish there was a winter option.
Wise Block Cherry Blossom Bonsai Tree Building Toy Set for Adults has an incredible 3150 Pieces and 2 different looks to be able to build. There is the lovely Spring Cherry Blossom and then the Green Trees Summer look. It's going to be a challenge - this building set is recommended for age 18+ and for 1-2 people. I would definitely not allow small kids or pets around this set with all of those tiny little pieces. This pretty set did have a higher price tag, but seemed worth its cost. This sure would make a great gift for building block aficionados. The instructions should be helpful, but one of the good things about building block sets is that you can always try again or start over. The best thing about sets like this one is the time you can spend meditatively working on them and also the quality time you can spend working on it together with others. Personally, I look forward to family time working on this beautiful building block set.
I bought this as a gift, and it was a great choice. The set has plenty of pieces that offer lots of creative possibilities, and it’s well-designed, fun to build, and provides hours of great play.
This building set is absolutely beautiful. The artwork on the box alone is so impressive, and the finished design has a peaceful, elegant look with the cherry blossoms, little bridge, and detailed train. The pieces are well made and the colors are vibrant. I love that it is a more advanced, large set because it makes the building process relaxing and rewarding. This is a great choice for anyone who enjoys detailed sets or wants a display piece that stands out. Definitely great to do with family or at a gathering!
This is a great building set. It comes with tons of special pieces like cherry blossom flower pieces. All the pieces were there, and the instructions were clear. The pieces were also durable, though the finished product was a bit fragile and is obviously meant for display rather than playing. They are compatible with other major brand building block sets. It's quality, and good value for the money.
My 6 year old had some trouble assembling it by them self, but we made it a family project and were able to complete it in a couple weeks despite the large number of pieces and huge scale of the set. Overall, good quality and good value for the people
